The Rotaract Club of Chinatown-Manila (RAC-Chinatown – Manila) under Rotary International 3810, Philippines recently attended the 4th SaturDate General Meeting of the Rotaract District 3810 last October 8, 2011. It was held at De La Salle University – Manila, hosted by Rotaract De La Salle University and Rotaract Club of Manila. The SaturDate was enriched with a seminar on Digital Marketing conducted by a well known Digital Marketer of our time – Mr. Carlo Ople. Mr. Ople is a Filipino public speaker and marketing consultant. He currently is the CEO of Catalyst Interactive Marketing and serves as the multimedia head of TV5. Mr. Ople is the first Certified E-Marketing Consultant in the Philippines. Rotaractors enjoyed this professional development seminar as Mr. Ople, opened and widened the views of the Rotaractors in terms of blogging, advertising and marketing with the help of the digital multimedia that we presently have. Mr. Ople also inspired a lot of Rotaractors to fight the shadows of their great ancestors, to take hold of their dreams and be the best that they can ever be. The second half of the SaturDate, was a time to mingle and to learn about the different projects of the different Rotaract clubs in and outside Philippines. The Rotaractors were able to learn the different culture, like the Rotaract Club of Subang, Malaysia which has their own trademark of cream pies for their birthday celebrant. District Rotaract Representative (DRR) Clarice San Jose delivered her State of the District Address (SODA) 2011. DRR Clarice San Jose named the goals of the district such as Increasing Rotaract Fellowship, Strengthening the ties of Rotaract Clubs and most important is to instill “Makadiyos, Makatao at Makabayan” to Rotaractors, to name a few. DRR Clarice proudly announced that The Rotaract Club of Chinatown-Manila sponsored by Rotary Club of Chinatown-Manila was officially recognized and chartered by Rotary International last September 15, 2011. DRR Clarice showcased to us what the district had already accomplished and what is in store for us. These include the regular monthly meeting – SaturDate, area meetings and New Generations which held the District Solo Singing Contest last September 10, 2011, Alay Lakad 2011, International Coastal Clean Up, the upcoming Oktober Dance Fest, ongoing End Polio Movement, , and New Generation Conference last October 9, 2011. The recently concluded 8th Asia Pacific Regional Rotaract Conference was one of the highlights of the report. Our very own Director for Professional Development Avin Ong shared his experience to the Rotaractors and encouraged the Rotaractors to join the 9th and the 10th APRRC which will be held in Thailand and Taiwan respectively. The SaturDate left a big imprint to our Rotaractors as they continue to see the bigger, better picture of what the Rotaract club is all about. Comments are closed.
