The Rotaract Club of Chinatown – Manila held its first General Assembly and Members’ Orientation last August 20, 2011 at Chiang Kai Shek College, College Building, 4th Floor AVR. The orientation started with a game wherein the (selected) officers and members all participate in. The RAC Chinatown officers have finally met the members and vise-versa. The game is for the officers and the members to get to know each other since fellowship is the first step and an important aspect in building a successful Rotaract club.
After the game, Speakers PDRR Oliver Alvarez, PDRR Charlie Chua & PP Goldilyn Uy gave meaningful talks about Rotaract’s importance and benefits. Present during the program were adviser PP Mylene Co, DRC Victor Lau, from RAC-Manila: PP Dhelle Tomampoc, CMP Florante Quimzom & Int’l Dir. Candy Martillano. Both the officers and the members learned a lot during the orientation. The Rotaract Club of Chinatown – Manila recently participated in the DISTAS 2011: Handa sa Hamon ng Pagbabago. RAC Chinatown Manila Officers were able to mingle with fellow Rotaractors. The event was much of a success as each new appointees gave their own privilege speech about the future for the organization.
DISTAS was able to introduce newly formed Rotaract Clubs, including the Rotaract Club of Chinatown Manila, and encouraged them to shape the future of society. Their message were truly inspiring, most attendees couldn’t wait for to hear the future plans ahead of the organization. The RAC Chinatown Manila Officers were so moved with the programs that were discussed in DISTAS that they all decided to sacrifice their food to be given to the urban poor community around the area. Hoping that others would also follow their path, the RAC Chinatown Manila Officers left with a memorable smile |
