The Rotaract Club of Chinatown – Manila had its Chinese New Year Celebration entitled "CHINOY HAO BANG好棒" last January 22, 2012 held at SM Mall of Asia, SM By the Bay. The event was made possible through the collaboration effort and partnership with Fil-Chi Media Production Inc’s Chinoy TV and Chinoy 360 Marketing Ads Services Company, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Filipino-Chinese Alumni Association and Association of Filipino-Chinese Schools in the Philippines respectively.On top of the usual annual Chinese New Year festivities, the group aims to create an event that specially focuses on promoting Chinese culture and heritage, appreciating and recognizing the rich partnership between the Chinese and the Filipinos, and most of all, bringing the Filipino-Chinese community together in celebration while being able to share the experience with the rest of the society.CHINOY HAO BANG 好棒2012 is packed with numerous informative and fun-filled activities suitable for all spectators. We showcased various outstanding and remarkable ‘CHINOY’ events, activities and cultural traditions. Surely this was a momentous occasion for our country as we recognize and appreciate the affluent partnership between Filipinos and Chinese. First and foremost, The Luneta Tai Chi Club Activity, Learn the HOWs and WHYs of Tai- Chi and Wu Shu! Promoting these popular workout methods that focus on cultivating physical and mental wellness! CHINOY Chow Chinese Food Fest - Showcases selected delicious Chinese dishes that have been everybody’s favorite! CHINOY Style Distinctive Chinese costumes and attire! CHINOY Profile Get to know our well-loved Filipino-Chinese personalities in the Chinoy Hall of Fame! CHINOY Basics Mandarin Language - Know and speak the basic words…in Mandarin! Calligraphy - Learn and appreciate the abstract art of Chinese Calligraphy! After our Opening Ceremony, Welcome Remarks and Ribbon Cutting, the Chinoy Strip is finally opened! This is compose of: Rotaractors In Action 4:00 to 5:30 pm Chinoy’s Got Talent! Chinoy entertainment from students of different Filipino-Chinese Schools! 6:00 – 7:00 pm Dragon and Lion Dance. This 96 foot Dragon by Philippine Ming Sheng Association spread good luck to all who watched as it paraded for 20 minutes around San Mig by the Bay attracting a lot of by standers.
